On Saturday I was contacted by residents in parts of the Scheme Houses reporting that their refuse bins had been missed out during the collection rounds that day. Please see background details in the article here: https://robcrute-blackhall.blogspot.com/2022/12/bins-at-scheme-houses.html
I made enquiries by telephone on Saturday afternoon to try and identify which areas had been affected, and also to find out when the missed bins would be emptied. The refuse and recycling crew returned to work this morning and I've received the following update confirming that the street missed out was Coleridge Avenue and also advising that the bins will be collected tomorrow, Wednesday 4 January:
Hi Cllr Crute
The bins that was missed was due to parked vehicles it was reported that 2 white vans was the cause of the problem.
Its not the street that is blocked it’s the main road where they park on the corners that caused the issues letters have been delivered in the past to ask residents to leave the corners free so the driver can carry out the manoeuvre.
We have very little issues other than over the holiday period when most people are not at work.
We have arranged to have these emptied tomorrow
