Coast Road drain clearance works

Following on from our meeting recently with the highways engineer to address flooding in the Chicken's Green and Emmerson Court area, works have taken place to clear the gullies and drains beneath Chicken's Green and to carry out further exploratory works (see post dated 28 May for further details).

I have been informed by the engineers that they believe now that any gully blockage on the south-bound carriageway at Chicken's Green may have an effect on flooding on the opposite side of the road. It is hoped that once these ongoing works are completed it may no longer be necessary to install drains at Emmerson Court as originally thought. However I am assured that this work will be carried out if required.
