A couple of weeks ago, following concerns raised by residents, I asked the council's highways department to inspect the road surface for actionable defects at the junction of Front Street and Hesleden WMC. I'm pleased to report that highways officers have agreed to carry out repair works at this location, within an estimated time frame of 14 days.
I also asked them to carry out repairs to the road surface on the opposite side of the junction - this is the lane behind Gray Avenue, heading from Hazel Drave and Sycamore Drive towards Front Street. I received confirmation yesterday that repair works at this location will also be carried out at the same time.
