Earlier this week I published initial details of roadworks scheduled to take place later this month on the B1281 between Hesleden and Castle Eden (please see post dated Monday 6 July 2020 for details).
I have now received correspondence from the Network Management section setting out additional details of the works which will begin on 22 July and are expected to take three days to complete:
B1281
Castle Eden
Temporary
Road Closure
An Order is being made under the
provisions of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect
of which will be to close to all vehicular traffic from 9.30 am on Wednesday 22 July 2020 a
940 metre length of B1281
between the road leading to the Castle (The Village, Castle Eden) and Gray Avenue, Hesleden.
The closure is necessary to enable
telecom connection works to
be undertaken which will probably take some 3 days (between 9.30 am and 3.30 pm per day)
to complete to be carried out to that length of road.
Throughout the period of closure an alternative route will be available to
vehicular traffic from the western side of the closure from the B1281
westerly to the A19 then south easterly on the A19 to the A179 Sheraton then easterly on the A179 to Hartlepool and north westerly on the A1086 to the junction with the B1281 at
Blackhall Colliery to the eastern side of the
closure, and vice versa.
